Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk builds homes with low-income families in need of decent housing. Our work is possible only with donations that we receive from individuals, corporations, churches, schools for the building materials and the use of volunteer labor.

We require our homeowner families to partner with us by building their own home and other Habitat homes by making a down payment of 270 hours of "sweat equity". There is no monetary down payment required. Habitat for Humanity homes are built under the supervision of a professional Construction Director with volunteer labor and homeowner families. The homes are built for an average cost of $85,000 and we then hold the mortgage at ZERO interest making the home affordable for families with an annual income of $28,000 to $47,000.

Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk has completed 116 homes since 1988. In 2008 we have set a goal of completing another 15 homes. We are very proud of this accomplishment as we celebrate our 20th Anniversary this year! donated computers, desktop or laptop PCS, that can be passed along to Habitat families in need of a computer would be a wonderful addition for their children's educational needs. Thank you for your consideration and support.
