Philadelphia
Giving of Self Partnership Inc. (GOSP) is a non-profit community organization which offers various services to community members in the Philadelphia region. GOSP's mission is to provide a supportive environment that will enhance the resiliency and protective factors of our communities and moreover our at-risk youth. Currently, GOSP partners with a number of organizations and are looking to establish more partnerships. The computer enrichment program at GOSP is an adjunct of the summer enrichment program. Last year, the Program spanned a four week period with 2 two week sessions involving over twenty children. During the Program, the children learned about web design and each developed a web page; they also developed invitations and calendars using Microsoft Publisher software. This valuable experience, forever imprinted in their developing mind, will resurface one day to broaden their options. This year we're looking to expand the program and engage the children further, in order to increase their opportunities so that they may be triumphant in their lives. GOSP would like to offer the children a free computer to take home after completing the computer enrichment program, in order for them to continue to foster the skills they will learn during the summer.
