The organizations listed are looking for donations of computer equipment to refurbish for reuse. If you have relatively new equipment to donate, contact the organizations in your local area to see if they would be interested.
If you are seeking donations for your school, religious organization or nonprofit, visit the websites of nearby listed organizations to see if you qualify for their programs. If you are not in their area or the kind of organization they support, please don't ask them to alter their mission to help you. Try to find charity organizations that help groups like yours in your area.
United States - National Organizations
Computers for Schools is a non-profit dedicated to providing a low cost alternative for achieving technology in the classroom. Computer for Schools offers certified refurbished computers to schools and non-profits at about 1/3 of the cost of new.
Gifts in Kind America accepts donations of many different items, and does not restrict itself to just computer and office equipment.
National Cristina Foundation provides the means for donations of used equipment to benefit charities and schools. Companies or individuals seeking to donate can use their on-line donation form to enable their equipment to be reused.
Recycles.Org is a national exchange network hosting the Nonprofit Computer Recycling and Reuse Network and the Nonprofit Materials Exchange Network.

The On It Foundation is dedicated to providing free computers along with computer training and Internet access to low-income families with students in grades K-12 receive a free or reduced school lunch and reside within the United States.

Freecycle - If you have a working computer or related item and you're not looking for a receipt for tax purposes, you could give it away through Freecycle. They have groups throughout the US, Europe and many other countries around the world. They say, "It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns."
Canada
Canada - Electronic Recycling Association Of Alberta A non-profit association with a primary goal of keeping e-waste out of the land fills.
Canada - Neil Squire Society a non-profit that impowers people with physical disabilities through technology. We accept computers at our Burnaby office, and refurbish them for people with disabilities. We've been able to help over 400 people to date. We also have employment counselling, job clubs, computer tutoring, and assistive technology programs. We also provide some of our services through distance technologies.
Canada - Reboot Canada reBOOT Canada is a non-profit organization providing computer hardware, training and technical support to charities, non-profits and people with limited access to technology.
England
IT Services for Charities provides a good list of organizations that recycle computers throughout England.
The Regional Electronics Initiative consists of a network of not-for-profit computer refurbishment centres offering a collection service of redundant IT equipment. All of the centres provide training opportunities to local people and the refurbished equipment is distributed primarily to community groups, educational establishments and householders in need. We take responsibility of all liability, along with secure and confidential destruction of all data.
