East End Community Heritage School serves more than 125 children from grades K to 12. 80% of our students are eligible for free or reduced lunch; 30% have special needs; 60% are African American and 40% are Caucasian. Now in its 10th year of operation, the East End Community Heritage School (EECHS) has been extremely successful in building strong partnerships with a wide range of organizations and service providers; recruiting a dedicated core of volunteers; and building a continuum of programs and services designed to respond to the academic and non-academic needs of our students and their families. Our target population is students who have dropped out of school and thier siblings. In addition to our traditional school, EECHS operates an Alternative High School, offering these young adults the opportunity to go back to school on a flexible schedule using computer based learning to support classroom teaching. We are proud to report that 90% of our students graduate and 60% go on to college.

Groveport
Groveport Madison Middle School South - Vicki Keck, 6th Grade Science Teacher, writes: Five years ago, we had two computer labs in my building. We now have barely one. The teachers bring in their own laptops bought with their own money because our systems are so slow. The technology department is now down to three people for 10 buildings. Their budget is nil. They are doing the best they can with antiquated parts and I do believe "duct tape"!!!! No, seriously. We are scratching our way back to where we were with little money, no support for our Board and a poverty stricken community that can barely keep food on their own table , let alone vote for operational or Bond levies. Please help us teach our students and get them ready for their futures in a world that is quickly passing them by.
