Schools seeking donations in South Carolina

Laurens District 55 High School - Fran Burgess, teacher, writes: Our school is made up of over 1600 students of which over 60% are from low-income families, plus our community has lost much of its property tax base with the closings of mills and other businesses. Because of these situations, our district and school budgets are very limited.
I teach a Yearbook Production class, and we produce a 250+ page yearbook each year. Right now, we have only three working computers. I have tried to make this class available to more students and a different caliber of student than those who are typically take Yearbook, but because of a lack of access to computers, I have had to limit the number of students.
I would love to have a classroom lab, but we would greatly benefit from at least one computer for every two students. To do this, right now I need four more computers. We are seeking Pentium four (or better) PCs or G4/G5 Mac descktop or laptops, printers (color or b/w), and an LCD projector. If you can help, please email Ms. Burgess or phone 864-682-3151, ext. 5053 or cell 864-978-7289.
North Charleston
Morningside Middle School - Ms. Victoria Gamble writes: We would like laptop/notebook computers to help start a Take A Computer Home Program for our students and their families. About 75% of our students do not have computer access outside of school. They are not able to complete school projects and assignments that require computer use. This limits our teachers in assigning technology based projects. We would appreciate your help with helping us to achieve our goal.
