Hope Christian Academy is a small non-profit private school located in Decatur, TX. HCA has served students, from grades pre-K through 12th, since 2004 with a wonderful Christian education, but has so far been limited as to providing them proper training with computer technology. HCA would like to give our students the opportunity to become familiar with the technology of today.

Paloma Garner writes: I am the robotics teacher at Davis High Schools. We are an urban title I school servicing a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. Although we have competed in the FIRST international robotics competition for 3 years, we were just granted a robotics class this year. As a result, our computer demands are much higher. We are currently running more than 4 separate programs (easy C and NXT) on 2 separate sets of software, all on one laptop! Students are having to wait for computer time to work on their robots, creating frustration and wasting time.
We would graciously accept any laptops that run XP or newer. Our programs have the following system requirements: PIII-450MHz+, 256MB+, 100MB Hard Disk Space. We are currently unable to upgrade or repair any machines we are offered. Please email Ms. Garner, call 713-226-4900, or fax 713-226-4999

Raul Yzaguirre School For Success - Tom R. Chambers, Teacher, Technology Applications writes: The organization's mission is to improve life opportunities of low-income children and families through the provision of education, social and health services, and community development initiatives. As it relates to Technology Applications within the education component, existing computers need to be replaced with higher-performance ones with more RAM and ROM, recordable CD/DVD and at least XP Windows. The existing computers are old/outdated, and many have broken down due to "use and abuse". The 20 student computers need to be replaced to continue TEKS/TAKS prescribed curriculum with various software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and also to add other software to the process ... Photoshop, Flash, Video production, HTML Web page building [editors]. This past school year was a struggle with existing curriculum and the new curriculum, but the students were able to produce at a very high level with thousands of files/documents generated. I want to offer more and at an easier, productive level with better hardware/software. I want the students to have more vocational and artistic opportunities.
Seeking desktop or laptop computers. High performance Pentium IV (or better) with flat screen monitor [17" - 19"], 2Ghz Intel Core Duo, 1 - 2GB RAM, 100GB storage, recordable CD/DVD, XP or Vista OS. G4 or G5 Macs would also be appreciated. If you can help, please email Mr. Chambers, (second email address) or phone 281-889-9966

Brandenburg Elementary - Traci Kernion writes: Brandenburg Elementary is a public elementary school educating students in PK-5th grades. We have many programs to equip our students for success, like our Dual Language Program (teaching kids a second language) and Club Cougar (an after-school enrichment program). The majority of our students are underpriviliged and struggling to hold onto hope for a good future. The main area that our school is lacking right now is technology. Most of our students do not have computers at home, so their time at school is their only experience with computers. Even the students who may have a computer, do not have internet access. My request is very simple; the more computers we can get our hands on, the more technology experience we can give our students.
Seeking Pentium IV, or better, PCs. If you can help, please email Ms. Kernion or phone 972-258-7129, 972-922-0351
