Highline High School - Mr. Spencer writes: I teach Algebra 1 and other math topics at Highline High School. The school meets the federal government's definition of a low income school by virtue of a large population of students who qualify for free and reduced lunch. I am in need of a document camera and LCD projector for teaching Algebra 1, as the curriculum we use (Cognitive Tutor) depends on students' daily presentation of their work to the class in order to give students ownership and accountability for the learning. Seeking Pentium IV PCs. If you can help, pleaseemail Mr. Spencer or call 206-631-6700

Bethel Senior High School - Ms. Quiles writes: I teach Communications Arts and Washington Assesment of Student Learning curriculum to students that do not pass the state test. If students fail this test, they do not receive a diploma, so you can see how important it is. These are kids no other teacher want because of behavioral issues, learning disabilities or difficult family situations that interfere with learning and testing well.
Our high school services many low income students and families. Many do not have computers at home. Computer availability and usage at school is limited. I would like to make computers available to them in my classroom so they could practice and improve reading and writing skills and complete their assignments. I currently have about a 78% -80% passing rate with these students. I am hoping providing computer access will help boost our success rates for these students. I also believe it would boost their morale knowing that someone cares enough about them to supply them with computers. We are seeking Pentium IV or better PCs and G4/G5 Mac laptops. If you can help, please email Ms. Quiles or phone 253-683-7114
